Most Park Homes are on private sites that are run on a commercial basis. The home is yours, but the site or “pitch” you occupy belongs to the park, for which you pay a ground rent.
Prospective buyers must be interviewed by the park owner or manager and many will require references. Many parks have restrictions regarding the age of residents and some will not permit pets or children.
You can arrange to have a survey carried out on a park home, we can put you in touch with Surveyors that are experienced in these types of properties.
You cannot obtain a mortgage on a park home from a bank or building society. There are specialist loans available for park homes, these are normally available for 75 or 80% of the purchase price, (subject to individual circumstances and survey) and are generally only available on units less than 15 years old.
